A Day in the Life at Fleurtations day 26

  • Early start, shower, ready, down to check emails, out to the van.
  • Todays CD a lovely album from Robert Plant and Alison Krauss called "Raising Sand
  • Down to the flower market to pick up more outdoor plants to revamp the outdoor section, really good quality Primulas from Holland, winter flowering Pansies, more Wallflowers and dwarf conifers, large cyclamen for the front door plus some red Guzmanias in baskets, that should do the trick.
  • The front of the shop looks fantastic after the rest of the plants and tubs plus compost are set out.
  • Breakfast, usual list of phonecalls, dreams of a holiday in Texas listening to great music, eating wonderful food, sipping whisky at Opel Divines Ale House with a warm breeze gently blowing up the avenue, back to reality and off to do more plant maintenances.
  • It's a tough day but one that brings an element of satisfaction when the last one is done.
  • Back to start the twilight job, SOE, and tonights project Cascadia hand painted glassware, this is a company from Wales who do the most wonderful designs for tealight holders, clocks, trinket boxes, mirrors (I have one up in the downstairs toilet, it's original and well priced, not to mention wonderful looking).
  • Their web page is located at http://www.fleurtations.uk.com/hand_painted_glassware.asp it's well worth a visit.
  • Again need to hurry the match starts at 21.00, which I feel is slightly to late for a football match, you don't have enough time to discuss the missed chances, poor tackles and the problems England still have on their left flank.
  • Game finishes with a victory 4-2 in which I nearly score twice but only nearly.
  • Off to the pub to talk about Thailand and a potential wedding, with a lovely pint of Bombadier.
  • Home, shower and bed, dreams of a sandy beach, bare feet, a fishing rod and sunshine, you sometimes have to question why we live in England, the climate sucks and the taxes are extortionate, but, we do have the worlds best cheese and beer plus a cracking sense of humour AND a great musical pedigree so maybe it's not that bad, just wish the sun would shine a little more, goodnight.
