If you love beautifully made soft toys, realistic animal designs and teddy bears with real character, then you really should discover Teddy Hermann!
At Fleurtations, we have always believed that a great soft toy should be more than just something cute. It should be beautifully designed, made from quality materials, have its own individual personality and, of course, be offered at a sensible price.
That is exactly why we love Teddy Hermann.
Founded in Germany in 1912, Teddy Hermann has more than a century of experience creating teddy bears and plush animals. This family business has built a reputation for thoughtful design, lovely detailing and soft toys that appeal to children, animal lovers and adult collectors alike.
And with an enormous variety of animals to choose from, there really is something for everyone!
A little history goes a long way
Teddy Hermann began in Sonneberg, Germany, when Bernhard Hermann established his family business in 1912.
More than 100 years later, the company continues its family tradition, producing premium teddy bears and plush animals.
That heritage matters because designing a really good soft toy isn't simply about choosing a cute animal and covering it in fur. Getting the proportions right, creating a convincing expression, choosing suitable materials and adding the little details that bring a character to life all make a difference.
Teddy Hermann has spent generations refining its approach, and that experience is reflected throughout its collections.
Teddy Bears with real character
Let's start with the classic teddy bear!
There is something wonderfully timeless about a traditional teddy bear, and Teddy Hermann offers a lovely selection of designs in different sizes, colours and styles.
Whether you prefer a traditional brown teddy, a soft cream bear, a cuddly caramel-coloured companion or a characterful bear wearing a little accessory, there are plenty of designs to discover.
Some are ideal as gifts for young children, while others have the appearance and detailing that make them particularly appealing to adult teddy bear enthusiasts and collectors.
One of our favourites is Teddy Hermann Casimir Brown Bear, a generously sized bear with caramel-brown fur, cupped ears, glossy eyes, an elongated muzzle and a lovely black button nose.
At 50cm, Casimir makes a wonderfully substantial teddy bear for anyone who appreciates a larger, cuddly companion.
If you are looking for a traditional teddy bear with quality design and plenty of personality, Teddy Hermann is definitely worth a look.
Beautifully designed dogs and puppies
If dogs are your favourite animals, you are going to love this collection!
Teddy Hermann produces a wide variety of plush dogs, from familiar family favourites to some rather more unusual breeds.
You can discover Labradors, German Shepherds, French Bulldogs, Pugs, Beagles, Chihuahuas, Australian Shepherds, Dachshunds and many more.
There are sitting dogs, lying dogs, little puppies and larger designs, with different coat colours, markings and textures helping to distinguish each breed.
We particularly like the way many of these designs capture the individual characteristics of the real animals. A carefully shaped muzzle, expressive eyes, distinctive ears and the right coat pattern can make all the difference.
If you know somebody who is devoted to their dog, a Teddy Hermann plush version of their favourite breed could make a particularly thoughtful present.

Cats, kittens and much-loved pets
Of course, dogs aren't the only pets worth celebrating!
Teddy Hermann also creates a lovely selection of plush cats and kittens, with different breeds, colours and poses to choose from.
From tabby cats to grey and white kittens, these designs offer plenty of variety for anyone who has a soft spot for our feline friends.
The wider pet collection also includes animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice and other characterful little creatures.
These are particularly appealing if you want to give somebody a soft toy that reflects an animal they already love.

From farm animals to woodland wildlife
One of the things that makes Teddy Hermann such an interesting soft toy brand is the sheer variety of animals available.
The farm animal collection includes familiar favourites such as cows, sheep, pigs, horses and donkeys. These can make lovely presents for children who enjoy animals, countryside life and farm-themed toys.
Then there is the woodland collection, featuring animals such as foxes, squirrels, badgers and other wildlife.
For example, our Teddy Hermann Reddish Brown Sitting Fox is the sort of characterful animal design that appeals to people who appreciate natural colours and realistic animal features.
And if you prefer something a little more unusual, Teddy Hermann also produces a fascinating range of wild animals, reptiles, amphibians and dinosaurs.
You can explore the different categories through our Teddy Hermann Soft Toys collection.
Birds and sea creatures
The variety doesn't stop with land animals!
Teddy Hermann also has a wonderful selection of birds and marine animals.
Depending on the collection, you can discover penguins, parrots, budgies, hens, roosters, seals, dolphins, sharks and other sea creatures.
These designs are ideal for anyone who has a particular interest in wildlife, whether they love watching birds, visiting the coast or learning about the animals that live in our oceans.
They also make a refreshing alternative to the more familiar teddy bears and puppies.

Quality materials and thoughtful design
A good soft toy needs to look lovely, but it should also be made with care.
Teddy Hermann places considerable emphasis on design, materials and the finished appearance of its products. The result is a collection that ranges from traditional teddy bears to more naturalistic animal designs, with individual characters carefully developed to capture the appeal of their real-life counterparts.
We also appreciate the use of recycled materials in selected designs. Some Teddy Hermann soft toys feature filling made from 100% recycled polyester, helping to make use of recycled resources.
Materials and construction vary between products, so we always recommend checking the individual product details for information about filling, washing instructions and age suitability.
That way, you can choose the design that best suits the person you are buying for.
Are Teddy Hermann soft toys suitable for children?
Many Teddy Hermann designs are suitable from birth, while others have a higher recommended age.
This is important because the range includes everything from smaller plush animals to larger designs and products with different construction details.
If you are buying a present for a baby or young child, always check the stated age recommendation and product information before purchasing.
For older children, animal lovers and adult collectors, the range offers plenty of choice, whether you are looking for a familiar pet, a realistic wild animal or a traditional teddy bear.
A lovely choice for gifts and collectors
We think one of Teddy Hermann's greatest strengths is that it appeals to so many different people.
For children, a soft toy can become a favourite companion.
For animal lovers, a beautifully designed plush animal can be a charming reminder of a much-loved pet or favourite species.
For collectors, the range offers the opportunity to discover different animals, sizes, colours and designs over time.
And for anyone searching for a birthday present, Christmas gift or simply a thoughtful surprise, Teddy Hermann provides something a little more individual than the usual mass-produced toy.
You don't have to be a serious collector to appreciate a beautifully made teddy bear or animal. Sometimes you simply see a design that makes you smile!
