A Day in the Life at Fleurtations day 11

  • Beautiful sunrise, the skies streaked with red. Awake before alarm.
  • Shower, ready, go to check emails. Orders are still coming through but not as many. Is it the dreaded "credit crunch" biting or has Google been playing God again.
  • Into the van, todays CD a collection of "Porcupine Tree" classics on a compilation, great rocky sound.
  • Arrive at flower market feels deserted, pick up flowers, back to the shop.
  • Rearrange the front, the wind and leaves are making it look very untidy.
  • Breakfast, open mail, recheck emails, phonecalls.
  • I'm "delivery man" today so off on the morning delivery route.
  • First drop no one's in, leave delivery note and contact number.
  • Second drop, a redelivery to an address from yesterday who say they never recieved the flowers. The lady is charming and explains that the flowers must have gone to some whacked out cannibis growers with the same house number, who certainly will not be giving them back. the last person to mess with them had their car set on fire. Wow, I thought that only happened in films!
  • Deliver a wedding next, much more sedate.
  • Several more deliveries and back to the shop for lunch.
  • Afternoon deliveries which take me to all corners of Nottingham.
  • Back for 16.30, straight to the laptop, it's going to be a busy evening. A new Jellycat page has been created and requires optimising http://www.fleurtations.uk.com/jellycat_5.asp also the finances need planning for the next three weeks.
  • Finish at 20.30 and it's time for a stoll up the road to the local pub.
  • Back for 23.00, watch Bill Bailey in concert, time for bed.
