A Day in the Life at Fleurtations day 50

  • More Christmas trees and at last a sense of achievement.
  • I normally wake early and turn over for at least another hour because it's Sunday, but not today, Christmas trees need selling, so up as usual, shower, ready, down to check emails, one order for Jellycat, two orders, three, four, I can't believe it, at last it's working.
  • Out to put the front out, a hot sausage cob and a piping hot cup of tea take the raw edge from the day.
  • Meet lots of really nice people, we all seem to be in the same boat, very little spare money around but determined to have a good Christmas.
  • The free milk chocolate brazils and dark chocolate mints on the counter go down a storm.
  • Have to deliver some trees and flowers, back for 12.00.
  • The shop becomes manic, everyone wants a tree, by the end of the day my arm is killing me (we saw the bottom off the trees for all our customers so that it can take up water).
  • Close at 16.30, wow, that was a busy day.
  • Lunch, out comes the laptop and of course it's still the revised Jellycat section. The toys have been split into their respective designs so today it's "Slackajacks" now found at http://www.fleurtations.uk.com/jellycat_slackajack.asp there are monkeys, mice, zebras, lambs, cows, cream bunnies and more. I'm looking forward to seeing how the new pages compete, it always gives me a bit of a buzz (yes, I know, sad).
  • Finish late, listening to Echo and the Bunnymen "Evergreen", with a bottle of beer.
  • Bed by 00.25.
